A 24-year-old Burney woman pleaded no contest Thursday in Shasta County Superior Court to having sex with a 15-year-old boy.

In exchange for her plea, Shell Amelia Harper agreed to a sentence of 180 days in jail and three years' probation. She won't be required to register as a sex offender, but will face four years in prison if she violates the terms of her probation, her defense attorney said Friday.
